Some moments change everything.
For Chloe, it was hearing Jack quietly say, "We don't have tickets."
She looked at him, completely confused, until he reached for her hand and dropped to one knee outside the gates of Keeneland. In an instant, five and a half years of memories, prayers, late-night conversations, and dreams about the future all led to the moment they had been waiting for. It was thoughtful, intentional, and completely unforgettable—just like the two of them.
A few months later, we met them for their engagement session at Ault Park in Cincinnati, and we quickly realized that their proposal wasn't the only sweet part of their story.
From the very beginning, these two have simply loved doing life together.
Their story started during University of Kentucky orientation in 2020. Even though orientation happened over Zoom, they noticed each other right away. A few months later, Jack finally introduced himself on campus (with a voice crack they'll never let him forget!), and they have been by each other's side ever since. Through college, graduation, moving to Lexington, and every new season that followed, they've continued choosing each other in both the biggest milestones and the smallest everyday moments.
One of our favorite conversations from the evening had nothing to do with wedding planning at all.
During football season, every Thursday, Sunday, and Monday night game comes with a friendly competition. They each pick a team, and whoever loses has to make dinner for the other. Jack immediately smiled when Chloe mentioned the homemade soup she makes that he always hopes will end up on the menu. We couldn't help but laugh, but it was also one of those little moments that tells you so much about a couple. Their relationship isn't built on grand gestures alone. It's built on laughter around the dinner table, playful traditions, and finding joy in ordinary nights together.
As the sun began to set over Ault Park, watching them laugh together felt effortless. They make being together look easy, and it's obvious they're not just planning a wedding—they're building a marriage and a lifetime of memories together.
