Deep breaths — this is the moment.
Brandon handed Anna coins to toss into the Disney wishing well, just like he had before. But this time, it was different. The place they stood held so much meaning — not just from one memory, but from the way their story had unfolded there over time. It was where he had first asked her to be his girlfriend on their first trip there with friends. Where, on another trip, they shared their first kiss.
The same place, quietly holding chapter after chapter of their story.
And now, it would hold the next one.
As he lowered to one knee, that familiar spot became something even more sacred — not just a place they had been, but the place where their once upon a time turned into the beginning of their own happily ever after.
Hearing Anna and Brandon tell us their story was one of those moments we wish we could bottle up. From the very beginning, you could feel how much it meant to them. They took us all the way back to that first night at a young adults Bible study — Anna sitting at a table alone, stepping into something new, and Brandon walking up with a smile and asking, “Are you lost?” It made us laugh hearing both of them tell it, each remembering it in their own way, but both lighting up the same way when they got to that part.
What made their story so special wasn’t just how it started, but how it grew. They built a friendship first — intentionally, patiently, and with their faith at the center of it all. Anna shared how she had prayed for a husband who would first be her friend, and as they told us more, you could see exactly how that prayer was answered over time. It wasn’t one defining moment, but so many small ones — conversations, time spent together, and a trust that deepened little by little until it became something steady and meaningful.
What stood out most to us, though, was the way they talked about their relationship now. The way they both continually pointed everything back to Jesus. Not just in what they said, but in the way they desire their marriage to reflect Him in the way they love, serve, and care for each other. It wasn’t just something woven into parts of their story — it was the foundation of it all.
By the time we met up with them for their engagement session in downtown Columbus, we already loved them — but getting to spend the evening together made it even better. From the very beginning, there was such a natural joy between them that you could feel right away. They laughed easily, told stories, and made the entire evening feel light and fun in the best way.
We started at the Ohio Statehouse, walking through the heart of the city together and easing into the session. Anna mentioned this was her first time ever having professional photos taken, which made it even more meaningful to watch how quickly she felt at ease. Within minutes, she was laughing, relaxed, and completely herself with Brandon — simply enjoying being with him. That’s always what we hope for. Not just beautiful photos, but an experience where you feel comfortable, cared for, and fully present with each other while we guide you through everything.
As we made our way to the Main Street Bridge, the wind picked up and brought such a light, joyful feel to the evening. Anna’s hair moved with the breeze, they leaned into each other, and laughter filled the entire bridge as we continued guiding them through each moment. They were completely up for the adventure, trusting us every step of the way, and it felt so playful, so joyful, and so true to who they are — the kind of moments that reflect a couple exactly as they are when they’re simply enjoying being together.
Anna and Brandon, we truly loved every second of this.
